LIHEAP processing is the latest addition to the income support services offered at JARC. We process applications for enrollment in the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), a service for all qualifying members of the general public. LIHEAP, a federal program, provides coverage of seasonal heating and energy bills to qualifying low income applicants.
As required by the LIHEAP program, JARC is open for application screening in two phases. From September 1 to October 31, JARC will only accept applications from seniors aged 60 years or older, permanently disabled individuals with written proof, and disconnected households. After October 31, the service will become available to the general public.
LIHEAP is a public benefit, and proper documentation is required. Successful applications require a valid Social Security card, recent utility statements, and proof of the past month’s gross income for all adult members of the household.
