The Jane Addams Resource Corporation, in cooperation with the Precision Metalforming Association, developed the Metalworking Skills Assessment - a tool that effectively measures the technical skill level of men and women employed in the metalworking sector and those individuals who may be seeking employment in metalworking. The Metalworking Skills Assessment has several advantages. It can be used as a pre- and post- assessment, a screening tool for job applicants, a tool for assessing skill levels of new hires, and the basis for developing custom training plans for current employees. The assessment's unique modular scoring format allows test administrators to evaluate an employees' knowledge of metalworking and then design a customized training plan specific to an individual's level of competency. Designed specifically for the metalworking industry The test is composed of 56 questions in a multiple-choice format. It is designed to assess five areas with cut-off scores for each of these sections:
- Basic Mathematics (whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
- Applied Mathematics (reading problems)
- Measuring (rules, micrometers, calipers)
- Blueprint Reading (machining and stamping prints)
- Fundamentals of Manufacturing Technology (safety, quality, machinery)
Available in English and Spanish The Metalworking Skills Assessment is available in English or Spanish in two versions (A and B). Both offer comparable levels of difficulty. The assessment can be purchased in packages of 20 sets (10 sets of Version A, 10 sets of Version B). The set includes a test booklet and answer set. Each package comes with a Metalworking Skills Assessment administration guide and answer template. See how to order for pricing and purchasing details. |
