JARC provides free tutoring for adults who want to work on reading, math, English, computers, or any other education-based goal.

Always accepting new clients.

For many JARC clients, tutoring and computer classes are the first steps in a journey that leads to job training and employment.

Adult Learners Programs & Services (ALPS)

The Adult Learners Programs and Services (ALPS) offers one-on-one and small group tutoring in reading, math, English as a Second Language (ESL), and GED preparation on Tuesday and Thursday nights. ALPS also offers computer classes and off-site tutoring. All of these classes are located at 4432 N. Ravenswood on the second floor.

How do I learn more about ALPS?

Attend an information session held every Wednesday from 5 - 6 PM. 

There is no need to reserve a spot; however, you must be on time.

ALPS participates in the North Side Literacy Coalition and Chicago Citywide Literacy Coaltion.

ALPS receives state funding from the Secretary of State Literacy Funding and Illinois Community College Board and foundation support from Chicago Tribune Charities, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
