Kevin
Kevin joined JARC two years ago as an Ignatian Volunteer (a Jesuit organization which provides opportunities to serve others – to address social injustice – and to transform lives). At JARC, he works with clients as an instructor in the Manufacturing Bridge Program, and as an Employment Services generalist, frequently providing support and guidance with resume preparation and job searches.
Prior to joining JARC, Kevin volunteered with PADS, an organization that serves individuals in northwest suburban Cook County who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. He also volunteered with Lutheran Services as a Community Companion Volunteer, during which time he visited and supported families of home bound community residents.
Kevin’s working career was in metalworking. He worked for Philips Electronics Corporation, during which time his responsibilities included managing multi-plant manufacturing operations in the US and Mexico; re-designing global supply chain operations and working with clients to achieve supply chain synergies, process improvement, and cost reduction.
Since retiring in August 2004, Kevin worked as a consultant to Philips Lighting and Philips Medical. The focus of these assignments was on Supply Chain process improvement, SAP ERP implementation, business operations consolidation, and outsourcing.
Kevin is excited to work as a volunteer at JARC and believes that his 40 years of manufacturing experience provides him with the insight and skills to support clients in JARC’s Manufacturing Bridge, Careers in Manufacturing, and Center for Working Families programs.
