Patricia Arias
Program Assistant/LISC AmeriCorps Member
Patricia Arias is JARC’s new Education & Human Development Program Assistant and a Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) AmeriCorps member. Her primary responsibility at JARC is to coordinate the income and work supports piece of the Center for Working Families. This involves using the Real Benefits software package to determine eligibility for public benefits, including food stamps, Medicare, and Circuit Breaker, as well as providing ongoing support to benefit recipients. Patricia will also coordinate JARC’s 2008 Tax Blast/ITIN event scheduled for March 8th. Patricia’s relationship with JARC began when she enrolled in a computer class to upgrade her skills. Soon after, she was asked to become a tutor for a Spanish-language Introduction to Computers class. Patricia brings experience in tax work as well as a long history of community service, and she is very excited to serve others through the Real Benefits program.
